How to enable or disable networking for attendees?

Discover the "Networking" property of attendees and how it works

The "Networking" System Property is the one that defines whether the attendee will have the "social" or networking modules active such as Explore (list of attendees), messages, meetings and channels.

Here we tell you a little about how to promote networking among the attendees of your event. You will be able to create a feeling of community, allowing attendees to know who else is participating in the event and interact with each other.

To begin, you should know that in an event you can have 4 levels of control over the attendees' networking:

  1. All attendees can network
  2. No attendees can network
  3. Only attendees defined by the organizer can network
  4. Each attendee decides if they want to network or not

How to define who can network from the organizer/admin dashboard?

NOTE 🗒️: To allow all attendees to network, simply do not enable the networking property.

If you want to define who can network, do the following:

  1. In Properties > Import click on the add property button.

NOTE 🗒️: If you want to assign the property through an Excel import:

  • Networking > Yes: 1
  • Networking > No: 2

By setting this property, attendees with Networking > NO will have the following options hidden:

  • Menu/Meetings
  • List of meetings
  • Exhibitor/Contact box
  • Attendee list (EV Web only): Contact button hidden in all cases.
  • Attendee profile (Web and app): Same as Attendee list
  • Menu/Channels (Web and app)
  • Menu/Open Meetings (App only)

How to allow attendees to decide if they want to do Networking or not?

By default the Networking property is not activated.

You can activate this property at three levels so that it can be defined by the attendee itself:
