Find out how the content of an event is displayed depending on the time zone in which the attendee is located
When an attendee accesses the content of an event from our App, Web, or landing page, the session times will automatically adjust to the time zone of their mobile device or computer. This ensures that the attendee always sees the schedule (e.g., 1-to-1 meetings, agenda sessions) in their local time, as long as their device is set to their local time zone.
Define the event's official time zone in General Information > General.
For example, if the event is set to (UTC+1:00) Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris, all times entered in the dashboard will correspond to this time zone. The platform will then adjust these times to match the local time zone of the device accessing the App or Web.
Examples
Example 1: Agenda session
- Agenda session on January 16th starting at 9:00 (UTC+1:00) Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris (Spanish time) set in the Dashboard.
- Attendee in Madrid
- An attendee in Ottawa, Canada, will see the session start at 3:00 (UTC-06:00 Central Time US & Canada).
Example 2 : 1to1 meetings between attendees
- 1to1 meeting between attendees on January 17th at 13:10 (UTC+1:00) Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris (Spanish time) set in the Dashboard.
- Attendee in Madrid
- The attendee located in New York will see that the start time would be at 7:10 (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) as that is their local time at that moment.
Example 3: Push Notifications / Emails campaigns
- Campaign scheduled at 9:00 (UTC+1:00) Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris (Spanish time) set in the Dashboard.
- Regardless of where the attendee is located, the campaigns will be sent at the time they are scheduled in the Dashboard.
This way, by using local (device) time zones, events are correctly displayed at the time that corresponds to the attendee, ensuring a smoother and more tailored experience.
NOTE 🗒️:
- For this feature to be effective, attendees must have the time zone correctly configured on their device and browser, as this is the information that the system uses to make the necessary adjustments.
- If the admin of the dash is in a different time zone than the official event time zone, we recommend that if the administrator of the dashboard is in a different time zone than the official event time zone, test as if you were an attendee, changing the time zone of the device from which you are consulting it
- If you want the time in the App or Web to be blocked and displayed in the Dashboard time zone, regardless of your local time zone/device, contact Meetmaps so that we can activate this feature.
